Job Summary:
The Project Accountant is responsible for project-level and corporate accounting activities, assisting Project Managers and staff daily to ensure accurate financial tracking, invoicing, and reporting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers with monitoring weekly and monthly project costs, including labor, expenses, and subconsultants.
- Create and close projects in accordance with contract specifications, including setting up and monitoring labor rate tables.
- Generate, track, and issue project invoices accurately and timely in accordance with client agreements and internal deadlines.
- Support clients and Project Managers to ensure timely collection of project invoices.
- Set up project budgets based on project setup forms.
- Coordinate directly with subconsultants to obtain invoices, review them for accuracy, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Assist the Controller with month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support audits from customers, auditors, or other external stakeholders.
- Attend Engineering Project Review meetings and follow up on action items.
- Ensure subconsultant invoices are processed and paid timely.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
