Senior Product Owner - Payments

We’re looking for a Senior Product Owner, Payments Platform to help shape and deliver the systems that move money across Daxko’s product ecosystem. This role is central to how our customers collect revenue, manage billing, and serve their communities.
You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Payments, and cross-functional leaders to build scalable, secure, and high-performing payment solutions. What You’ll Do

As a senior member of the Product team, you’ll serve as the voice of the customer within an agile development team while owning delivery across key areas of our Payments Platform.
You will:

• Lead product execution for critical payment capabilities across billing, transaction processing, and integrations
• Translate business needs, processor requirements, and integration specifications into clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing technical dependencies, compliance considerations, scalability, and customer value
• Partner with Product Management leadership to shape roadmap priorities and long-term platform strategy
• Lead sprint and release planning, setting measurable goals and guiding the team to deliver against commitments
• Analyze API documentation from payment processors and third-party partners to inform feasibility, scope, and implementation planning
• Identify and proactively mitigate risks that could impact transaction accuracy, system reliability, or regulatory compliance
• Validate acceptance criteria and conduct sprint reviews through both a customer and business lens
• Develop and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials to support internal teams and customers
• Deliver training sessions and product demonstrations that clearly communicate payment workflows and platform capabilities
• Serve as a subject matter expert on payment processing, integrations, and platform functionality for Payments, Sales, Support, and Customer Success

You won’t just manage stories — you’ll help define how payments function across Daxko’s ecosystem.

What You Bring

You combine strategic thinking with operational precision. You’re comfortable reading API documentation, navigating technical tradeoffs, and influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority. You understand that payments demand accuracy, resilience, and thoughtful risk management. 

You should have:

• 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership or Product Management within a software development environment
• 3+ years working in agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean Agile
• Experience working with APIs, third-party integrations, or technical platform products
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret API documentation and technical specifications
• Experience creating user documentation, technical guides, or training materials
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize competing initiatives effectively
• The ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.

It’s a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with payment processing systems, gateways, or fintech platforms
• Experience integrating with providers such as NMI, Paya, CardConnect, or similar processors
• Familiarity with authorization and capture flows, tokenization, EMV processing, PCI compliance, and related industry standards
• Experience supporting multiple scrum teams or coordinating cross-team dependencies
• Agile, Scrum Product Owner, Pragmatic Marketing, or Project Management certifications
