About the role:

This is a role leading the Quality Engineering team for the larger full-stack software development organization. We have lots of projects to deliver over the next few years and need to develop a scalable approach to measuring and holding an insanely high bar for quality in all of Samsara’s full-stack products. There is a lot of automation that needs to be built and hard engineering problems that need to be solved given the inherently complex nature of testing IoT products.

In this role, you will lead development and execution of a cross-organization quality strategy,, and working with an amazing team of quality engineers to solve the hard engineering problems inherent in the world of IoT.

In this role, you will: 

  • Lead development and execution of a cross-organization quality strategy 
  • Build automation and automation frameworks, while evangelizing them to the broader organization
  • Work with an amazing team of quality engineers to solve the hard engineering problems inherent in the world of IoT
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Experience in developing automated tests as well as testing tools and infrastructure
  • Five years of experience leading a quality engineering team
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Demonstrated achievement in transitioning a team or organization away from manual testing to automated testing
