Job Summary
At the direction of a Registered Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) performs patient treatments as indicated by the treatment plan. Documents treatments given, including frequent and objective measurements. Works with neonatal through geriatric patients with clinical competency. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
- Performs selected tests and measurements as directed by therapist; maintains documentation on all treatments; assures appropriate equipment performance prior to each use.
Education:
- Required: Associate degree in occupational therapy assistant, Active U.S. military service members, or veterans with any military service, training, or education verified and credited by an accredited OTA program is acceptable
Experience:
- Preferred: 1 year of experience
Certifications:
- Required: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by AOTA. Licensure, as required by State law. AHA BLS.
