Purpose/Introduction

The Commercial Organization plays a key role in developing and executing CPChem’s strategy and business plans.  Commercial coordinates with Manufacturing and Technology to develop optimal sales and operating plans, grow our asset capabilities and plan for the future.  They identify and evaluate business opportunities, execute the supply chain, build customer and supplier relationships and work to continuously improve our offerings to provide increased value for our customers and shareholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage orders from order placement, receipt of product, invoicing, and account settlement.
• Ensure records compliance requirements are being met and orders are entered into the Electronic Storage System.
• Daily communication with the territory sales managers to discuss key accounts and projects to follow up.
• Reconcile and ensure accuracy of customer purchase orders against quotes.  Advise appropriate parties of exceptions/deviations.
• Liaise with plant and transportation partners to coordinate on-time pickup and deliveries.
• Supporting activities:
  • Foster customer relationships
  • Manage inventory through order delivery date requests to ensure the product is shipping as planned and monitor and expedite shipments as needed.
  • Utilize applicable SAP system elements.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve problems (Customer Feedback System, Short Pays, etc.)
  • Provide coverage for team members.
  • The position will require some accessibility outside of normal business hours

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 3+ years of customer service experience
• Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Have strong problem-solving and multi-tasking capabilities
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment that is passionate about serving customers and building a healthy business
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of polyethylene pipe products
