Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Pharmacy Technician for our Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Pharmacy Technician you will:
• Prepare and delivers medication to Pyxis
• Maintain an accurate inventory of medications and supplies by performing inventory management cycle counts and Pyxis unit inspections with electronic documentation
• Assess need for and repackage oral solid and liquid medication for dispensing
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications include:
• High school diploma or GED/equivalent
• Graduation from an ASHP accredited or PTCB recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred.
• Preferred: 1 year of pharmacy experience
• Preferred: Previous experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels.
• Required: Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy.
• Preferred: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Work Schedule:

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week
  • Typical Daily Schedule: Rotating schedule - days/evenings and occasional nights as needed. Monday through Friday 
  • Shift Type: Rotating
  • Weekend Requirements: Required/every other weekend rotation
  • Holiday Requirements: Required/Rotating/Follow company holiday calendar
  • On-Call: no
  • Shift Differential Eligible: Yes

Pay Range:

$19.64 - $25.65

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:
