Job Description
Option #4: Unit-Based RN work - 72 hours every 4 weeks ($50/hr), including 3/12-hour weekend shifts/4 weeks, one major holiday and two difficult to fill shifts a year.

Under limited supervision, this role is responsible for the assessment of patients including the development, evaluation and modification of the plan of care. Provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team member, according to established standards. Interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their area of expertise. Role functions as members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway and plan of care. Patients served include all age groups (Infant through Older Adult as identified in Performance Standards).
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements
- An Associate Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor of Science from a College of Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- BSN is required within 5 years from date of hire or transfer into a Clinical Nursing position.
- Current Maryland Registered Nurse licensure is required prior to beginning orientation.
- At least 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience is required.
- If there is gap in applied nursing experience of 5 years or more, successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months is required.
- Professional Certification is highly encouraged.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required upon hire.
- Must meet all unit-specific certification requirements (PALS, ACLS, NRP).
