About the opportunity

We are looking for a Software Developer III with a strong DevOps and platform engineering mindset to join our Platform team and help build, automate, and evolve the foundational infrastructure and tooling that powers the Dayforce solution.
This role sits at the intersection of software development and operations, focusing on building scalable, reliable, and automated systems that support enterprise SaaS applications. You will work on high-impact systems, enabling development teams through improved CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and observability.

If you enjoy building foundational technology, influencing architecture, and working with automation, cloud infrastructure, reliability, and developer productivity—while seeing your work power large-scale applications—this role offers endless opportunity for impact.

What you'll get to do

• Design, build, and evolve cloud-native platform components and infrastructure in a SaaS enterprise environment
• Develop and maintain scalable, resilient systems including microservices, APIs, databases, and distributed systems
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and secure software delivery
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
• Implement and manage containerized workloads using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
• Contribute across the full development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline deployment processes and enhance developer experience
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, staging, and production environments
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices across platform architecture, infrastructure, and delivery pipelines
• Participate in architecture discussions, influencing technical direction, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization
• Estimate effort, assess risk, and evaluate system impact for new features and platform changes
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the team
• Take ownership of initiatives and drive them through to successful delivery and continuous improvement
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, supporting production systems as needed

Skills and experience we value

• 3+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering
• Strong programming skills in C#, .NET, or similar backend technologies
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and cloud-native services
• Proficiency with containerization (Docker) and familiarity with orchestration (Kubernetes is a plus)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or similar)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, and system design
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Application Insights)
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across application and infrastructure layers
• Familiarity with security best practices in cloud and DevOps environments
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
• Leveraging AI-assisted development tools in daily workflows

What would make you really stand out

• Experience building and maintaining internal frameworks, shared libraries, or developer platforms, including self-service tooling
• Strong focus on writing secure, accessible, scalable, reusable, and globally ready code
• Experience working in a large-scale SaaS enterprise environment with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and API management
• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets)
