Overview

This position will use their skillset to inspect, test, analyze, and/or repair Pad, Pole, or 3Phase transformers while considering the values and goals of ERMCO.

Responsibilities

Understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions with regards to inspecting, testing, analyzing, and/or repairing distribution transformers. Ensure safe and proper start-up, operation, and shut-down of test equipment. Repeatedly lift/move material that is 50+ lbs. with or without assistance from lifting devices or coworkers. Handle material and use hand/power tools and testing equipment. Read and interpret various forms of documentation to ensure conformity of all ERMCO distribution transformers to ERMCO standards. Follow all ERMCO safety polices and procedures.

Qualifications

• Communicate, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions;• Use iPads, computers, and other electronic communication tools;• Work in a team environment with open communication and collaboration;• Use of organizational skills and attention to detail is necessary;• Add, subtract, multiply, and calculate averages in Standard units of measure;• Demonstrate proper lifting techniques;• Grasp, reach, and handle objects, tools, and materials;• Use measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers;• Use hand/power tools such as torque wrenches, impact tools, and scanners;• Operate overhead hoists and lift assist equipment;• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. and push/pull 50+ lbs.;• Frequent standing and walking is necessary;• Occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling;• 20/40 vision is required with or without the use of corrective glasses and/or contact lens, as well as normal peripheral vision no less than 70, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;• Must comply with all plant safety policies and procedures and any special department safety rules;• Must be able to wear all required PPE including, but not limited to: safety toed shoes, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, and hearing protection.
