Get onboard with our Decorah Engineering operations team and play a part in optimizing our innovative product lines which include Fire Protection, Radio Navigation, Weather Radar and Communication systems. In this dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of our operations worldwide.

 

What You Will Do:

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
• Assist and provide guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize process equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Develop tooling and fixtures to continuously improve our manufacturing processes.
• Assist in planning the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to optimize utilization of assets.
• Perform research and engineering functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of electronic or electro-mechanical devices.

 

What You Will Learn:

• You will learn a variety of manufacturing specifications and procedures.
• You will learn how to implement new solutions that improve processes.
• You will learn various engineering principles in a manufacturing environment. 

 

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Proficient knowledge in 3D-Modeling.
• Experience with continuous improvement principles.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
