Job Purpose and Impact

The Associate Director, Transportation and Logistics Technology will lead and provide direction to managers, professionals and indirect staff that will analyze business problems to be solved with automated systems.  You will lead individuals who conduct solution selection in partnership with the regional Cargill Transportation and Logistics businesses to build business cases related to their investment strategies.  In this role, you will lead, advise and make decisions to help the team provide technical expertise to identify, evaluate and develop systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee general workforce administration policies and programs. 
  • Lead and monitor the use of existing solution versions ensuring team is driving, advocating and guiding the use of existing solutions. 
  • Approve and assess more complex business model design plans for development. 
  • Act as tactical leader throughout a moderate subset of the organization to ensure the processes and systems support the business. 
  • Integrate more complex process areas, including data, education and security across a moderate subset of the organization. 
  • You will develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business and/or regulatory environment while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, exhibiting authority for talent management decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also coordinate subordinate managers and supervisors in selecting staff to align with current and future needs of the organization. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience in global transportation and logistics 
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy and business case development, including value realization of technology investments 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of supervisory experience
