Associate Strategy Director, UX (Freelance)

Instrument is gearing up to redesign and relaunch not one, but two websites for our esteemed clients. We're on the hunt for a Freelance Associate Strategy Director to join our dream team of UX and marketing maestros.
As a Freelance Associate Strategy Director, you'll be the guiding light behind the scenes, steering our projects toward success with your strategic brilliance. From brainstorming game-changing ideas to crafting seamless user experiences, you'll be the mastermind orchestrating it all. And fear not – you'll have a multidisciplinary squad, including another UX strategist, by your side every step of the way.

What You'll Do

• Lead our teams UX POV, from new business to project execution: quickly understanding a variety of client business needs and translating objectives into innovative and impactful UX solutions
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with our clients; nurture these relationships and start to understand how this process can assist with the development of additional business in the future
• Provide oversight to multiple website projects at a time, understanding when you need to lean in or empower others. Remain aware of key moments in a project life cycle to monitor the project team’s needs
• Provide mentorship to UX strategy team members by providing methodologies as applicable to the project, and course correct projects as needed to ensure project success
• Display a high level of emotional maturity and awareness, utilizing multiple styles of communication and influence to come to the best result for our clients and team
• Help to shape the vision and craft of the strategy discipline for UX on an integrated, multidisciplinary agency team

What You'll Bring

• 7+ years experience
• 1+ years of experience supervising junior strategy team members
• Expertise across websites, digital product, digital content, information architecture, user experience and interaction design, mobile applications, and product innovation
• Experience in successfully collaborating within large multidisciplinary teams
• Experience managing and mentoring junior UX strategists 
• Experience designing, leading, and synthesizing remote and in-person workshops with senior to C-suite level clients leveraging strategic design-thinking frameworks

Pay Range

• The expected pay range for this role is $84-103 per hour
• Our company has three regional pay bands that it adheres to depending on your location, we reference them as US 1, US 2, and US 3.
• US 3 is our base pay. Examples of cities in US 3 are Portland, Houston and Miami.
• US 2 pay is 7.5% higher than US 3 to meet the market rates. Examples of cities in US 2 are Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle.
• US 1 pay is 15% higher than US 3 to meet market rates. Examples of cities in US 1 are Brooklyn and San Francisco.
