POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Sales Forecasting and Analytics, the Data Science Manager, Sales Analytics, will support the commercial teams by designing, implementing, and managing data models, validation controls, and automation of business/reporting solutions. This role will also manage sales data hierarchies and act as primary business lead for ensuring accuracy and usability of all sales data assets. The goal of this work is to maximize sales, profit, and market share by improving forecast accuracy and analytics to support key business decisions. This position requires a balance of technical skills, teamwork, strong communication, and critical thinking.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates sustainable processes and controls to ensure validity of core data sources and efficiency of system resources through optimized integrations. This includes leading key initiatives like retailer data ingestion and sales forecasting system optimization.
- Lead collaboration between IT, business partners, and Sales to driving cross functional alignment and actions that support key sales initiatives around data. Includes defining, consolidating, and resourcing data requirements as needed
- Support the Sr. Manager of Forecasting and Analytics by proactively identifying and implementing solutions and process improvements through a knowledge and continuous learning of the latest data management principles, data management tools, and data sources.
- Builds innovative reporting capabilities, cross-functional metrics, and analytical tools that will drive data-driven decisions. Supports the Sr. Manager of Sales Forecast and Analytics in the management of internal stakeholder requirements with a structured process spanning development, implementation, and automation.
- Develops and executes key activities in advancing data capabilities (ie predictive analysis, data structure, report building) to support Sale Analytics processes and projects.
- Management of an ecosystem of platforms and data sources which can be aggregated and tied into consolidated outputs. Ability to advise on proper hierarchy and connection methods of these sources.
- Create data solutions that enable accessibility of data at the user level of proficiency.
- Uphold the gold standards of data quality, security, and governance, ensuring compliance with pertinent regulations and maintaining data privacy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Requires a four-year university degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent professional experience. Master’s in Business Administration or Masters in Predictive Analytics or Information Sciences preferred.
Certification: Microsoft or Cloudera preferred but not required.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in data analytics with experience implementing strategy
- Experience with MySQL (Structured Query Language), Python, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Azure, and VBA (Visual Basics)
- Ability to extract and transform data from ERP system tables is required
- Experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion, Oracle, Kinaxis, and Microsoft Power Automate or Fabric a plus
- Experience with sales planning or analytics at a consumer-packaged goods company a plus
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Experience in automation and integration of multiple platforms
- Advanced skills in data visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau
- Experience with SQL
- Experience leading cross-functional meetings
- Experience with complex, matrixed project management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong business acumen and ability to approach problem
