Manager, Commodity Management and Sourcing

Carrier is seeking a motivated, driven, experienced Commodity/Account Management & Strategic Sourcing professional. In this role you will manage the strategic roadmap for a sub-category within the Electronics commodity and contribute to our supply chain effectiveness by partnering with internal clients, and key stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and improve sourcing strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a strategic plan for an electronics sub-category and execute sourcing strategies in alignment with business objectives
• Responsible for the overall relationship for multiple strategic suppliers for that specific sub-category
• Drive cost savings and process improvement with spend analysis and innovative sourcing techniques, and by negotiating contract terms with suppliers
• Lead in negotiating prices, assessing supplier capabilities, selecting new suppliers, narrowing supplier base, and working with suppliers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and improve their ability to provide quality, cost effective materials while minimizing inventory
• Manage supplier selection based on price, quality, service, support, parts availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and details of suppliers' reputation and history.
• Ensure Suppliers’ compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or company policies, procedures, work rules, standards, and guidelines, etc.
• Partner and maintain strong relationships with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and develop sourcing strategies to continuously improve and re-evaluate the supply chain activities of the company.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and developments
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years’ experience in sourcing/supply chain/category management
• 1+ years of Advanced Microsoft Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Experience in Electronics commodity management
• Cost reduction project leadership experience in a related environment preferred
• Technical acumen / understanding of commodity management and ability to quickly learn products and industry
• Ability to work in a dynamic cross-functional environment and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Be process driven.
• Excellent time management, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel both domestic and International, to develop, promote and maintain strategic sourcing relationships
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful sourcing strategies

• Excellent negotiation skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-cultural suppliers on technical and logistics issues
