Job Description

To operate within defined authority to assess, analyze, accept, and assist in the underwriting of a profitable Casualty Property Facultative portfolio in Latin America and the Caribbean on behalf of PartnerRe in order to provide Client and Brokers a full set of expertise and capabilities.

Key accountabilities

Business Management:

• To be aware of, and comply with, the appropriate regulatory requirements for the territory / territories operated in
• Through the provision of high quality and efficient services, establish and develop relationships with clients and brokers
• Be willing and able to travel for business purposes, including overseas visits
• Actively participate in the development and execution of the Unit’s business plan
• Demonstrate a high level of competency in the analysis and interrogation of data, trends and market dynamics and Judicial and Legislative differences among territories and their impact on casualty risks.
• Quantify statistical possibilities of loss given a risk’s characteristics
• Support and represent PartnerRe on market associations and events
• To operate as an effective team member to support colleagues across other PartnerRe business and service units to assist in the delivery and achievement of wider corporate objectives
• Where applicable, operate, evaluate, and improve existing pricing tools and assumptions
• Develop and attract new business in line with the Unit’s business plan and PartnerRe strategy
• Maintain awareness of PartnerRe's product range and take advantage of opportunities to introduce other PartnerRe’s expertise and capabilities to clients
• Deep knowledge of the key stakeholders and particularities of the Latin American Reinsurance market. Ability to develop a network of contacts in the short term.
• Ensure company, market and client related documentation is issued (internally and
• externally) accurately and on time
• Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations

Underwriting Management:

• Review, negotiate, accept, or decline risks on behalf of the Company
• Ensure all business is thoroughly evaluated and rated, and that risks written adhere to the PartnerRe Underwriting Guidelines, appetite, standards, and individual Authority Limits
• Ensure that underwritten business is thoroughly evaluated by peer review and that risks adhere to the Company’s underwriting standards and authority limits
