About the role

We are a team in OCI Networking that builds and operates software services and utilities to automate management of networking hardware at OCI scale. We’re looking for an engineering leader with strong management experience to help us build new features and grow our team. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives. As a Sr. Manager of Software Development, you will own libraries and modules that implement software-hardware interfaces used by distributed services and cloud-connected devices at enormous scale. You will manage a team of software engineers that designs, develops, troubleshoots and operates networking, embedded and cloud technologies in Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment which requires agility, and the drive to deliver. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Career Level - M3

As a manager of the software engineering team, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, designing, debugging, deploying and operating software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided product specifications. You will build enhancements within an existing software architecture and work with the architects to implement new software architectures to make OCI successful.

Responsibilities include:

  • Full lifecycle ownership of software systems (design, development, deployment, operations)
  • Provide leadership, direction and strategy
  • Identify, recruit and retain strong engineering talent 
  • Work with geographically distributed teams, drive execution of projects to make OCI successful 
  • Support highly available and secure cloud services, and build the supporting systems to automate such support
  • Participate in management oncall rotations

US: Hiring Range: from $84,700 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
