Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Quality Production Specialist to join our team located in San Antonio, TX!

The primary responsibility of this role is to audit critical processes involved in aircraft modifications, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

This position may require working in a manufacturing or production environment, with a focus on safety and compliance. The Quality Production Specialist will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Process Assessment: Perform product or process assessments according to a scheduled plan or on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Requirements Review: Review all necessary requirements with operators, including employee certifications, drawings or specifications, documentation, calibration of equipment, shelf life, and materials.
  • Work Auditing: Audit work performed to ensure compliance with applicable process specifications and procedures as the work occurs.
  • Observations and Questions: Include additional questions and observations relevant to ensuring process conformity to engineering requirements.
  • Incident Management: Take immediate action to stop work and notify responsible management if any activity poses a potential risk of injury to personnel or damage to products. Record and report incidents according to local reporting requirements.
  • Surveillance Results Recording: Record surveillance results in the EPES system and ensure that blank surveillance check sheets are destroyed after data transfer.
  • Non-Process Findings: Document any findings not related to the evaluated process on the EPES check sheet, excluding them from the process evaluation.
  • Real-Time Feedback: Provide real-time feedback to personnel being surveyed, highlighting noncompliance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Nonconformance Communication: Immediately communicate any nonconformances noted during surveillance to the QA inspection team for review and processing per BPI-4517.
  • Management Reporting: Inform area management of the results if any findings are identified and route them to the manager responsible in EPES for resolution.
  • Reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Performs analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations.
  • Applies knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.  
  • Trains and mentors fellow employees in the Quality Management System.
  • Performs root cause analysis on the nonconformance to identify the cause and prevent recurrence.
  • Independently develops, modifies and documents actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action and documents resolution.
  • Obtains corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes.
  • Negotiates concurrence, obtains commitments for taking preventive and corrective action, prioritizes quality activities and ensures problem resolution.
  • Reviews and validates the corrective action plans and identifies effectivity to ensure completion.
  • Reviews and approves Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware products/processes.
  • Guides validation of configuration management, quality procedures and material review policies to deliver the products.
  • Develop system processes to support changing industry standards.
  • Reviews and implements corrective action on audit results per engineering defined requirements.
  • Interprets industry standards and provide recommendations for implementation.
  • Creates analytical reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal/external distribution. 
  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working with Quality and/or Safety Corrective Action/Preventative Action,
