Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a passionate Lead Senior Principal Software Engineer  to join our team. This role will be based in Roy, Ut. And supports the Sentinel Program.

We're looking for a Senior Principal Software Engineer and full stack developer to lead and deliver next-generation software solutions for multi-domain defense applications. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise, proven experience across the full software lifecycle, and the ability to mentor, collaborate, and drive scalable, containerized architectures in secure environments.  


Your responsibilities will also include
• Develop vertically traceable requirements
• Design and implement software to meet documented requirements
• Develop and lead code unit testing and peer reviews of other developers’ changes
• Lead the full life cycle of software development
• Lead efforts in Agile development including iteration planning and reporting
• Troubleshoot and debug software in both desktop and target environments
• Build, integrate, and maintain microservices and REST APIs
• Develop scalable data pipelines and workflows to support data analysis
• Design and implement software interfaces
• Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs in collaboration with front-end teams
• Work assigned defect reports to support incremental product builds and releases
• Lead integration of software in lab environments
• Lead use case development, requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition
• Utilize advanced software engineering practices, including development in C++ and Python
• Develop and maintain software across full stack environments (including containerized apps and UX layers)
• Apply best practices for system-to-system integrations using REST services, APIs, ESBs, and microservices
• Support software development in Windows and Linux environments, including use of virtual machines
• Utilize tools such as Git, Jira, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Bitbucket, Coverity, and Fortify
• Lead develop of CMAKE scripting and version control
• Lead cross-functional teams to align software solutions with business objectives

Basic Qualifications: 
• 8 Years experience with Bachelors in relevant field of study; 6 Years with Masters, 4 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security clearance. 
• Must have an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
• Professional experience leading a software development team through agile activities.  
• 7+ years of experience with object-oriented design and development using C++ and Python
• 7+ years of experience working in an Agile environment
• 7+ years of experience with full stack software development
