Construction Management Intern (Assistant Field Engineer) - Winter'23-Spring'24

Get real, practical experience with managing contractors during your internship! At CS Energy, the Assistant Field Engineer (Construction Management Intern) will attend job meetings with our team and our clients, work on buy-outs, submittals, write subcontracts, work with quantities, be involved in staging changes, and work with a team of Foremen, Engineers, Construction Managers and Project Managers. During this internship you will be given real responsibilities and many opportunities to learn about the construction side of the solar industry. This position is 100% field based at a project construction site. Projects will be located throughout New York area. This internship has the ability to be extended through the Summer of 2024.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include assisting the Field Engineer and Operations Team with shop drawings, submittals, scheduling of sub-contractors and materials, meetings, as-built drawings, quality control checks (ie torque checks) and job costs.
• Position helps prepare an individual for opportunities in Project Engineering, Project Management, Construction Manager, Estimating and other career paths within the organization and industry.
• Individuals in these roles will report to their specified job site.

Requirements

• Pursuing a BS in Construction Management OR Renewable Energy
• Excellent Academic Credentials (GPA of 3.0 or higher)
• In 3rd or 4th year of academic study
• Excellent teamwork and strong communication skills (verbal & written)
• Track record of achievement
• Valid Driver's License
• Self-directed, organized and self-motivated to accomplish goals
• Ability and desire to learn and progress within your position
• Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced challenging environment
• This position will be 100% at the construction site working in the field, must be okay being in the field
• This position will require the assistant field engineer to perform manual quality torque checks using a wrench
Working Knowledge of Word, Excel, and software
