We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team.

The responsibilities of a Senior Accountant include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail and deep knowledge of regional laws and regulations.

Ultimately, the role of the Senior Accountant is to handle the company’s financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.

Senior Staff Accountant Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements and regulatory reporting documents
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
• Analyze finances to ensure they are accurate and compliant with laws and regulations
• Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
• Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
• Respond to information requests by management and for auditing reviews
• Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns

Requirements

• Proven experience as an accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Awareness of business trends
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages and ERP systems
• Advanced MS Excel skills 
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
