The Impact You’ll Make in this Role:

The Network Optimization and Digitization Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of 3M's logistics network. By leading network optimization projects, developing and implementing digitization strategies, and utilizing advanced tools and data analytics, this role will drive significant improvements in logistics operations. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and leverage digital solutions to streamline distribution center processes. This role will also focus on monitoring key performance indicators, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and staying updated on emerging technologies to keep 3M at the forefront of logistics innovation.

This role reports to the Director of Distribution Improvement & Global Standards and is integral to the success of 3M Distribution Science. • Lead network optimization projects using tools like Llama soft, Optilogic, or related tools: Take charge of projects aimed at optimizing the logistics network. Utilize advanced tools such as Llama soft, Optilogic, and other related tools like AnyLogistix to model, analyze, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics operations.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources: Oversee the timelines, deliverables, and resources for various projects. Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet the desired objectives and quality standards.
• Develop and implement digitization strategies for logistics processes: Create and execute strategies to digitize various distribution processes. This includes identifying areas where digital tools can enhance operations and implementing these solutions to streamline workflows.
• Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the logistics network: Conduct thorough data analysis to pinpoint inefficiencies and areas for improvement within the logistics network. Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement changes that enhance performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive analytics projects: Work closely with teams from different departments to drive analytics projects. Ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and that projects are executed smoothly, leveraging the expertise of various team members.
• Utilize Power Apps or Power Platform to enhance distribution center processes: Use Microsoft Power Apps or Power Platform or RPAs to develop applications and solutions that improve processes within distribution centers. Focus on enhancing efficiency, reducing errors, and improving overall performance.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs): Regularly monitor and report on KPIs to track the performance of the logistics network. Use these metrics to identify trends, measure success, and make informed decisions.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies: Ensure that all logistics operations comply with relevant industry regulations and company policies. Stay informed about regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
• Train and mentor team members on optimization and digitization tools: Provide training and mentorship to team members on the use of optimization and digitization tools. Help them develop the skills needed to effectively use these tools in their daily work.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies: Keep abreast of the latest trends and emerging technologies in the logistics and supply chain industry. Use this knowledge to continuously improve the logistics network and stay ahead of the competition.
