Senior Accountant

Primary Care Partners, Inc. is hiring a skilled on-site Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in our Grand Junction, Colorado office. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

While experience in healthcare or medical practice accounting is not required, it is preferred and will help you thrive in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Oversee general ledger entries, journal adjustments, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Lead budget preparation and support department managers with forecasting and variance analysis
• Deliver actionable financial analysis and business recommendations to support operations
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS, and healthcare-specific accounting standards
• Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and reconciliations
• Provide occasional backup support for team functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and revenue posting, as needed
• Develop and maintain financial dashboards, board presentations, and financial models
• Recommend improvements in accounting workflows, reporting tools, and software systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• Minimum of 4 years’ progressive accounting experience (required)
• Healthcare or medical practice accounting experience (preferred)
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, financial reporting)
• Solid understanding of payroll processes and account reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills

Experience:

Extensive understanding of all phases of accounting principles and budget process; minimum of four years of experience in accounting functions preferably in a medical practice or health care setting, a strong working knowledge of Excel and other accounting software, able to work independently and with small groups; detail oriented with good organizational skills; critical thinking skills; able to multi-task; good communication and interpersonal skills; team oriented; good analytical and decision making skills.
