Emergency Medical Technician Requirements and Education:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Must meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal certification requirements for EMT – Basic (EMT-1) level
- Must meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers
- Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures
- Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions
- Effective team player
- Maintains composure in unusual circumstances
- Courteous telephone manner
- Adapts to changes in environment and organization
- Writes routine correspondence, logs, and reports
- Strong organizational skills
- Provides high-quality customer service
- Good interpersonal skills across diverse cultures
Essential Functions:
- Assess and resolve problems at client facilities.
- Administer emergency care to injured or ill individuals at client facilities.
- Coordinate with medical professionals at treatment facilities during emergencies.
- Operate necessary equipment and vehicles for job tasks.
- Lead and train staff.
- Control site access, screen visitors efficiently, and ensure facility security.
- Provide excellent client interaction and maintain a positive client image.
- Communicate openly, honestly, and responsively in all situations.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and movement within the facility using CCTV and remote access devices.
- Patrol assigned areas to identify hazards, security breaches, and safety issues.
- Preserve evidence and manage incident scenes during emergencies or security investigations.
- Prepare accurate logs and reports using standard grammar and computer systems.
- Report incidents or suspicious activities promptly to appropriate authorities.
- Respond to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, bomb threats, hazardous materials incidents, and severe weather conditions.
- Enforce property removal policies in compliance with client standards.
- Perform specific duties as required by client/company policies.
- Fulfill any additional duties specified by the client or company.
