About the role

Job Responsibilities:
• Develops, supports, maintains, and revises Registration and Scheduling IT solution(s), including but not limited to practice management software applications, data sharing, and end-users, between and among practice management, revenue cycle, and related 3rd-party systems in support of Marshall Health, the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and affiliated organizations.
• Monitors system activities and performance of patient access and related applications escalating issues to team members or vendors as appropriate for effective issue resolution.
• Collaborates with the Director of Patient Accounting, Director of Enterprise Clinical Applications, Operations analyst(s), Financial analyst(s), department managers, and end-users to provide patient access analysis and report generation for financial, visit, RCM, and various payers’ performance related reporting in a timely manner.
• Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues surrounding the use and support of patient access and related IT support systems.
• Participates in the planning and execution of patient access and related system installations, upgrades, and processes continually improve patient access management.
• Develops and delivers training documentation, presentations, support to all registration, scheduling, and business office new hires.
• Optimizes and continually improves patient access systems, quality initiatives, and clinical operations through evaluation of workflows, inefficiencies, and policy and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.


EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or related certification in Information Systems Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or Accounting related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in IT support of a healthcare billing environment or development role required. Healthcare patient access experience or background in front office operations. Priority given to experience in Cerner Millennium solutions.
