JOB OVERVIEW
Serve as jewelry inventory specialist for the Graduate Jeweler diploma program. Serve as inventory associate and assist preparation of metals, including overseeing classroom readiness, classroom materials/equipment management and administrative support of classroom activities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Able to create sample pieces and components through jewelry fabrication and stone setting in a variety of metals for use in the Graduate Jeweler program.
Manage daily operations and classroom functions related to classroom set-up and upholding maintenance standards, equipment cleaning, repairs, and ordering/receiving of course materials relevant to the program to provide great learning experience for students. Coordinate with the Carlsbad campus counterpart when needed.
Understanding the importance of all equipment and resources and preserving all parts of inventory items to be provided to students as learning aids in the classroom.
Maintain storage and file organization system for physical and digital class files.
Support and assist the classroom instructors with lectures and demonstrations as needed.
Maintains classroom daily expectations, including, but not limited to, keeping classroom clean and equipment organized, obtaining teaching aids, oath of accuracy in tracking metal weights, scrap and responsible for accuracy of materials in safe room.
Ability to complete required administrative duties and adapt to a fast-paced office environment with multiple priorities.
Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of students at various levels of experience and/or knowledge.
Maintain a positive climate for learning through appropriate classroom management.

Proactively communicates effectively, gets along with colleagues and management, and works with others empathetically and professionally under pressure.
Maintain and foster sensitivity and respect for a culturally diverse classroom environment consistently maintaining GIA’s reputation in standards of integrity, respect and teamwork.
Participate in Education department meetings and training, as needed, operational and administrative procedures, etc.
Ability and willingness to meet all minimum requirements mandated by federal, state, city, accrediting, and other regulatory bodies.
Provide supervisors with up-to-date estimates of the work needed to be done and needed resources to successfully complete projects/tasks.
May travel occasionally for instructional development or Institute representation purposes as needed, keeping and reporting accurate work and travel time and recording into Workday.
May be required to assist with special projects, and other duties as assigned, as needed.

satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
In-depth knowledge of jewelry manufacturing industry with interest in further skill development to demonstrate a command of theory and contemporary knowledge.
Skilled bench jeweler generalist, in jewelry fabrication and setting techniques, as week as repair with expertise in utilizing torches, files, saws, rolling mills and polishing equipment and machine tools and hand tools, such as engravers.
Personal accountability: continually improves performance; takes personal accountability for decisions, actions & outcomes
Time management/organizational skills: Manages time, priorities and work environment appropriately - approaches work in an organized and systematic manner.
