Project Manager I (Merad Laboratory) - Immunology and Immunotherapy

The Department of Immunology and Immunotherapy is looking to hire a project manager for the imCORE consortium.
- Report directly to Dr. Miriam Merad, Chair of the Department of Immunology and Immunotherapy and Director of the Precision Immunology Institute
- Manage cross-functional teams (intellectual property, regulation, finance, technology platform, biobank, research laboratories, physicians, industry partners)
- Serve as a primary liaison with pharmaceutical companies
- Understand scientific or technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management and make detailed plans to accomplish these goals
- Anticipate critical gaps, risks and issues and proactively address them
- Meeting coordination and calendar management, soliciting items for and set agendas
- Oversee clinical research trials, observational research studies and preclinical ones
- Design and oversee budgets, approve and review expenditures, and prepare financial reports
- Plan research activities to be in compliance with contracts and budgets
- Review project activities and prepare operational reports
- Design databases using Redcap, and make sure all the relevant research data is collected in a timely manner
- Track patient enrollment and data acquisition
- Oversee sample inventory
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the scientific and technical activities to ensure regulatory compliance or operations enhancement
- Bachelors degree or greater preferred, or combination of applicable work experience and education
- 3+ years of relevant experience in an academic or healthcare environment required with Masters degree; 5+ years with Bachelors degree; project management-specific experience preferred
- Broad high-level scientific and technical knowledge
- Ability to work proactively and independently as necessary with minimal supervision and competing priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills mandatory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external contacts, building strong sustainable relationships
- Professional maturity, confidence and competence
- Track record of effective decision-making; and analyses problems from multiple perspectives
