Position Description:

Associate Director, Pension Investments

Reporting to the Assistant Treasurer, Pension Investments, the Associate Director, Pension Investments will assist in the management of over $25 billion in pension and benefits trust investments.  Duties are a mixture of recurring and project related tasks and involve presentations to and interaction with senior management. 

Responsibilities include:

• Analyzing and communicating investment manager performance and compliance with investment guidelines

• Conducting searches for new investment managers

• Evaluating new asset classes and/or investment opportunities

• Performing and evaluating asset/liability modeling studies

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

• Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting

Required Experience and Skills:

• 4 years of Finance experience;

• able to work independently and accurately under time constraints;

• proficient in Microsoft Excel;

• able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build internal and external relationships;

• advanced degrees and/or certifications such as MBA, CFA or CPA;

• understanding of investments, portfolio theory and statistics;

• working knowledge of simulation techniques including Monte Carlo analysis;

• experience developing complex financial models
