The Project Specialist is a member of the Procurement and Supplier Relationship Management team, supporting the organization in meeting its daily project management tasks aligned with its strategic goals. This role is responsible for managing projects which will have a positive impact on Meijer’s margin and profit performance.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Partners across all levels of Indirect Procurement & Supplier Relationship Management and business partners at the onset of a project, and throughout, to understand the scope, identify appropriate internal/external resources, and define a critical path forward.
- Collaborates with owners and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Performs training and administrative duties for system maintenance, enhancements and trouble shooting. Ensures business partners and stakeholders remain focused on and delivers against daily/iteration goals, specific to objectives.
- Aids in organizing people, tasks, project timelines, production and resolving issues.
- Successfully supports multiple projects at any given time.
- Maintains proper documentation and files for reference and resource.
- Defines and manages project risks with input from stakeholders, elevates risks and facilitates resolutions.
- Owns monitoring and maintaining begin to end schedules for each project.
- Collaborates with Indirect Procurement & Supplier Relationship Management leaders to evaluate project successes and failures.
- Provide oversight and ownership for the procurement data management; and ingestion and management of Indirect Procurement and Supplier Relationship Management data. Including and not limited to; Spend Data (ERP driven), CLM, and other procurement tools.
What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3-5 years of project management experience.
- Can lead multiple projects at a time.
- Responsible to assist with establishing scope, success criteria, project timelines and maintenance plans.
- Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and enhancing key processes.
- Ability to perform moderate data and financial analysis.
- Working knowledge of SAP/Ariba, Microstrategy, PowerBI, is a plus.
- Experience with applications used for analytical, quantitative, and to apply statistical techniques to solve complex and ambiguous business problems in a timely manner.
- Active curiosity—enjoy gathering and digging deeply into data to identify opportunities and risks.
- Strong work ethic complemented by a positive, can-do attitude.
- Audit and improve existing processes, collaborate with senior team members and contribute to the team’s success.
- Ability to influence in a cross functional team setup.
- Excellent communication skills: listening, verbal and written.
- Ability to develop communications and presenting to cross functional partners.
- Able to prioritize multiple/competing projects and assignments.
