About the Role
The IMO Project Manager is a key member of the Innovation Management Office (IMO) sub-team. Reporting to the IMO Senior Manager, the IMO Project Manager will support the IVA team to find the most impactful solutions to solve our future challenges in delivering our vision to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future.
Sitting within the Strategy, Innovation and Market Analytics (SIMA) directorate, the Innovation & Venture Acceleration (IVA) team seeks to serve as a catalyst to allow National Grid to meet upcoming challengers around decarbonisation, decentralisation, and digitalisation. It does so by identifying and validating opportunities for new technologies and business models that can chart a path towards this future, bringing along both internal and external stakeholders to ensure scale-up and impact. Such opportunities must have clear and plausible economic, environmental, and / or societal benefits which will be valued by both National Grid and our customers.
Key Accountabilities
• Delivering good governance for impactful innovation through supporting the IVA team to deliver against the objectives of the Group Innovations Strategy.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify new opportunities and enhance collaborative innovation capabilities.
• Capturing and sharing information to support continuous improvement, and to increase institutional knowledge of lessons learnt and successes.
• Crafting engaging case studies and stories that bring innovation to life.
• Tracking progress and collating data for reporting on the performance of the innovation portfolio, including financial and strategic metrics, key performance indicators, and progress against strategic objectives.
• Disciplined maintenance of innovation and stakeholder databases, documentation and team calendars.
• Contributing to planning, reporting, and production of process documentation, presentations and other IMO artefacts to a high-quality level.
• Supporting the excellent delivery of the innovation operating model, including the development and implementation of best practices, tools, techniques and resources for exceptional innovation management.
• Supporting the effective management of the innovation pipeline from set-up through to commercialisation/ launch, identifying and flagging risks, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Supporting the successful delivery of stakeholder engagement activities, facilitating innovation sprints, ideation workshops and other creative problem-solving sessions.
• Championing the culture of innovation through all of National Grid’s businesses.
Qualifications
• 3+ years' experience in project management using agile methodologies and/or in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts in an engaging manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with a wide range of external partners and internal stakeholders, motivating others towards a goal.
• Strategic thinking, analytical, and data visualisation skills, with the ability to present compelling information to decision makers.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to pivot and adapt as priorities change.
• A self-starter who is comfortable to lead on tasks, but also happy working collaboratively with colleagues.
• Knowledge of energy trends and emerging technologies.
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Must have Project management qualification.
• Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Agile project management qualification or similar desirable.
• Member of a relevant professional association helpful.

Annual Salary:
$92,000-$108,000
Salary commensurate with experience.
