Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Human Resources Coordinator to join the Oaky Creek Coal team.  

In this role you will be responsible for:

As a true generalist role, this position covers all aspects of the human resources function, in particular, you will:

  • Actively contribute to the HR team and foster an environment that is dedicated to superior, timely client service delivery.
  • Manage processes and procedures relevant to long term absences, employee discipline, performance management and employee complaints matters.
  • Contribute to the development, review and evaluation of HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinate the formal initiation of bargaining, including employee notice of representational rights, maintaining register of bargaining representatives. Bargaining meeting scheduling and planning.
  • Support negotiations through preparation of proposals, responses to log of claims, drafting of proposed Agreement, and other negotiation materials.
  • Ensure the delivery of a full recruitment and selection process for relevant vacancies.
  • Undertake projects in HR matters to develop innovative best practice processes.
  • Provide direction and support to the wider human resource team to achieve desired results by:
    • Facilitating team members’ commitment to objectives and standards;
    • Actively contributing to the development of team members’ technical and interpersonal capabilities;
    • Fostering the development of a co-operative, high performing work group that is client service-focused;
    • Monitoring outcomes and giving and receiving feedback.

In addition, the Senior HR Coordinator will also have two payroll administrators as direct reports therefore, skills in coaching, mentoring and leading are essential. You will have a desire to build relationships not only amongst your team, but also with the broader Oaky Creek Coal team.

About you:

  • Hold tertiary qualification in human resources or employment law.
  • Strong HR generalist experience, preferably within the mining or heavy construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of current legislation.
  • Demonstrate high degree of confidentiality.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience using SAP or Workday is preferable, and a high proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.

This is a Monday to Friday Rostered position. The successful candidate may have the option to work a compressed 9-day fortnight flexible work arrangement.
