About the role

Description

 The Staff Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) who practices within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality, individualized nursing care, based upon knowledge and experience, the nursing process and leadership skills. 

Community First Medical Center has the following availability for Nurses who are looking to work variable shifts, as an "As Needed" basis. Shift needs are 7pm-7:30am

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assesses each patient’s biophysical, psychosocial, environment, spiritual, cultural, self-care, educational and discharge planning based on age and development status.
  2. Utilizes the caring behaviors of empathy, active listening and cultural sensitivity and supports patient dignity.
  3. Develops and prioritizes an outcome directed plan of care to assigned patients and changes as necessary.
  4. Performs clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures.
  5. Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions. 
  6. Reviews the plan of care and consults with the physician and other health care providers.
  7. Documents care per documentation standards.
  8. Provides patient/family education.
  9. Serves as a mentor/preceptors for colleagues and other staff within or outside of areas of responsibility.
  10. All nurses must meet and maintain annually all of the Performance Standards and expectations.

Education and/or Experience

  • BSN preferred 
  • Must have 1+ years of experience required
  • Ability to follow instructions and record information accurately
  • Able to communicate effectively using written and verbal English
  • Good interpersonal skills
