What you will do

HII - Mission Technologies is looking to hire a Maintenance Data Engineer/Scientist to provide technical support for the Army Futures Command and the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Division (AMED) in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Army’s AMED provides its engineers and analyst the opportunity to gain experience in various programs, including Research & Development, Fielding & Implementation, and Sustainment Engineering programs supporting the DoD Aerospace Industry. In addition, HII engineers and analysts set the standard of professional and ethical conduct and participate in diverse professional development opportunities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Support government engineers with expert technical guidance related to aviation maintenance engineering for rotary aircraft or unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant, data analysis, forecasting, modeling and simulation, process improvement, application methods/procedures, and the integration of the same into engineering projects. Keeping abreast of new analytic methodologies/technologies.
  • Designs, develops, and implements statistical and analytical methods, examines processes and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse data sets including structured, semi-structured and unstructured.
  • Develops and sources software programs, algorithms, dashboards, information tools, and queries to clean, model, integrate and evaluate datasets.
  • Employs statistical concepts, linguistics and programming skills to develop related techniques and methods for analysis.
  • All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.

What we are looking for

 

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Manage initiatives that focus on driving new projects, processes improvements, forecasting, modeling and simulation, and customer experience enhancements.
  • Own end to end projects from initial recommendation through implementation/execution and assurance of successful operational impact.
  • Run ad hoc projects that are data intensive and require comfort with statistics to make develop dispositions and managerial decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate project work with little to no supervision.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, excellent written, and oral communication skills.
  • Meet project travel requirements (approximately 10% of projects require travel)
  • Competence in MS Office and related software/programs.
  • Personnel should have strong data
