Smith Anglin Financial is an airline-focused wealth management practice based in Dallas, Texas. With $2B+ under management as of September 2025, we focus our efforts on serving pilots who fly for the major airlines, both those who are in need of guidance with retirement decisions as well as early career pilots who are building their retirement portfolio. We help individuals and families make informed financial and tax decisions triggered by their unique life events with an emphasis on proactive goal setting.
Our staff is made up of approximately 34 team members who are dedicated to providing the highest quality wealth management and tax services to our high-net-worth clientele. Professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service are key components of our company environment and culture.
What You’ll Do
Smith Anglin Financial is looking for an experienced Wealth Advisor to onboard new practice clients and service a book of existing households. The advisor will be the primary contact and will develop and support client relationships with Smith Anglin’s Standard of Care. The advisor will maintain a communication plan which emphasizes goal setting and financial planning. You will work in a team environment and collaborate with members of the investment team, financial planning team, tax team, service team and other wealth advisors. You will report to the Director of Advisory Services.
• Standard of Care - Maintain regular communication and conduct client appointments with a focus on engaging clients in financial planning.
• Onboard new clients to Smith Anglin Financial, including setting up new accounts, advising on portfolio strategy, and any relevant financial planning.
• Work with partners/advisors to transition designated clients; driving process
• Develop and present client advice appropriate to individual client situations and following our planning processes, investment strategy and fiduciary standard.
• Work with the internal and external teams to implement recommendations with careful attention to detail.
• Demonstrate a broad base of knowledge across all departments of financial planning, including cash flow management, investments, insurance, tax strategy, retirement analysis and estate planning.
• Achieve proficiency in relevant technologies including MoneyGuide Pro, BlackDiamond, and Salesforce.
What You’ll Bring
• Certified Financial Planner® designation or enrolled in CFP coursework
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5 years in a wealth advisor, portfolio administration, financial planner or related position
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Excellent at strategic planning and implementation
• Keeps current on the financial markets and economy, and uses best business practices
• Self-motivated, proactive and adaptable
• Strong sense of urgency
• Strong organizational skills, follow-up, and high attention to detail
• Technology: Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word), MoneyGuide Pro, SalesForce, Black Diamond
