The Sr Architect, Data role is responsible for guiding the business through the analysis of quantitative & qualitative data. This role requires the creation of customer-centric solutions/approaches driven by data analysis, business acumen, creativity, and effective communication. This position will manage the design and development of reporting structures and interfaces, as well as administration of standardized reports to be utilized cross-functionally. Presents all business insights and findings in succinct and creative ways using data visualizations for a broad audience, including all levels of leadership, technology, business and finance.*** This position will sit in Overland Park, KS; or Bellevue, WA. This is not a remote role - this is a hybrid environment requiring 3 days a week in office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct industry research & trends for setting the direction of Information Architecture
- Stay abreast of information management trends and standards, master data management, data services, self-service business intelligence, metadata management, data quality, and data governance.
- Build & maintain Reference Model Architecture and Standards for communicating direction of Information Architecture
- Participate in Strategic, Regulatory & Tactical SDLC projects
- Unify collections of data requirements for key data concepts across the enterprise, harmonizing business definitions and semantics, and specifying data designs expressed as business semantic models, data models, lifecycle models, taxonomies, etc.
- Maintain an enterprise view of data across business systems and highlight opportunities for progressive improvement
- Architecting, designing, and building data models for Back office enterprise system with a focus on Business Intelligence and Information Management.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4-7 years Experience with enterprise level database systems such as Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server or others, emphasis on Teradata. Required
- Ability to identify the best automated solution to drive business executive level decisions, using fact based data.
- Experience with Canvas and Model Driven Apps: Proficiency in both types of Power Apps is essential, as each has its unique design and functionality applications.
- Comfortable with Data Modeling: Ability to design and manage data in ways that make it useful for building apps, including understanding entity relationships and data integration.
- Solid Understanding of DAX Language: Knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) is crucial for creating advanced calculations and data manipulations within Power Apps.
- Experience creating and updating Dataflows: Dataflows are used in our application to ingest data into Dataverse as well as meshing with various other flows to export from the tool.
- Expert working knowledge of SQL: Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL) for managing databases, querying data, and handling sophisticated data operations.
- Expert working knowledge of Data Ingestion and ETL Processes: Familiarity with the techniques of extracting, transforming, and loading data is key for integrating and consolidating data effectively.
- Experience with Dataverse and Cloud Technologies: Understanding of Microsoft Dataverse for storing and managing data used by business applications, and general proficiency with cloud services and infrastructure.
Preferred:
- Experience with JSON: Knowledge of JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) for data interchange between web applications and servers.
- Comfortable with Query Tuning: Skills in optimizing and refining queries to improve performance and resolve latency issues in databases.
- API exposure: Future development efforts include integration with various APIs to write back to source tables.
- Jira data familiarity: Solid knowledge of how Jira data is structured.
