Penn State CommRadio is the official radio/streaming station and podcast network of the Bellisario College of Communications. It includes more than 150 student members and provides live radio coverage of Penn State sports, along with news, arts, and entertainment programming through a wide variety of podcasts, social media content and written stories.
CommRadio seeks qualified candidates for the position of Media Operations Manager to supervise daily operations. This includes oversight of the day-to-day broadcasts and media distribution operations, providing vision, strategic development, and management of all content distribution, overseeing training, providing key performance metrics, strategies, and operational guidelines for the organization while aligning with overall University goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead staff, including student members and student management team. Hiring, development, and performance management
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day broadcast and media distribution operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, broadcast industry standards, university policies, and safety guidelines
- Oversee and manage program development and production, scheduling, broadcast engineering and operations, regulatory compliance, and reporting
- Ensure the station(s) project an on-air image of high production values and quality of content and that all technical standards are regularly measured and met
- Lead the acquisition, production, and distribution of diverse programming content that attracts, maintains, and increases audience engagement
- Develop contracts for the acquisition and distribution of station equipment and technology and program conten
