Job Title: Senior Scientist, Product Development

Your Role

The Senior Scientist in Product Development leads complex formulation projects, driving the development of innovative products, particularly Fruit & Herbal ones, from concept to commercialization. This role involves conducting research, designing experiments, and optimizing formulations to ensure product efficacy, quality, and compliance. The Senior Scientist collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing, to ensure successful product scale-up and market readiness. This position requires a deep scientific expertise, a strategic mindset, and the ability to mentor junior scientists, contributing to the innovation pipeline and supporting the company’s growth objectives.

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the internal subject matter expert on fruit & herbals
• Lead the formulation and development of new herbal products, ensuring that they meet all quality, performance, and regulatory standards such as FDA, FTC, DSHEA, USDA Organic, and 21 CFR 111 guidelines
• Design and conduct advanced experiments, analyzing and interpreting data to optimize product formulations and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product scale-up, pilot trials, and successful transition to full-scale manufacturing.
• Prepare and present comprehensive technical reports, including research findings, project updates, and recommendations, to internal stakeholders and leadership.
• Conduct stability and efficacy testing to validate product performance, making data-driven adjustments as needed to ensure product robustness.
• Stay current on industry innovations, regulatory updates, and scientific advancements to drive product innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior scientists, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and continuous learning.

 

Skills and Experience:

• 6+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Botany, Herbal Science or a related scientific field; an advanced degree is a plus.
• experience in herbal or dietary supplement product development in the U.S. market
• Strong expertise in formulation design, stability testing, and analytical methods, with the ability to interpret complex data accurately.
• Proficiency in laboratory equipment and software, including advanced data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strategic and detail-oriented approach to product development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience in cross-func
