About the role
Description
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's Degree in Social Work from a graduate program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
- Prefer Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker AND working toward licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Prefer two (2) years of supervised social work-related experience in a health care setting, working directly with individuals, and knowledge of oncology social work standards and practice.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work full-time
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a current California driver's license
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment screening (background check, drug tests, and references)
- Must be able to pass all program-mandated health screenings
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge base:
- Oncologic diseases and their treatments and psychosocial implications for individuals and families
- Clinical expertise and practical experience with patients
- Community resources and governmental programs from local, national health and welfare agencies, including expertise in accessing these services for patients
- Research that relates to clinical issues, interventions, and outcome
Skills:
- Organizing and facilitating patient and family education from the role of CSW, as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Making independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Entering and retrieving data using computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment
Abilities:
- Read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, vendors, and the general public
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, referral sources, and the general public
- Relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
- Function independently with flexibility and personal integrity
