Licensed Clinical Social Worker

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  •  Master's Degree in Social Work from a graduate program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
  • Prefer Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker AND working toward licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Prefer two (2) years of supervised social work-related experience in a health care setting, working directly with individuals, and knowledge of oncology social work standards and practice.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work full-time 
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a current California driver's license
  • Must  be able to pass all pre-employment screening (background check, drug tests, and references)
  • Must be able to pass all program-mandated health screenings

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge base:

  • Oncologic diseases and their treatments and psychosocial implications for individuals and families
  • Clinical expertise and practical experience with patients
  • Community resources and governmental programs from local, national health and welfare agencies, including expertise in accessing these services for patients
  • Research that relates to clinical issues, interventions, and outcome

Skills:

  • Organizing and facilitating patient and family education from the role of CSW, as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Making independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Entering and retrieving data using computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment

Abilities:

  • Read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Write  reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, vendors, and the general public
  • Establish  and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, referral sources, and the general public
  • Relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times  hostile people within the facility
  • Function  independently with flexibility and personal integrity
