Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Cable portfolio Programming Finance team and will work across all Cable properties, including USA, Bravo, SYFY, Oxygen, E!, & Universal Kids, as well as Peacock.  This role will provide operational finance support as well as FP&A support for unscripted programming.  The Senior Financial Analyst will work cross-functionally between Finance, Production Operations, Controllership, Business Affairs and Senior Management to provide traditional operational finance support related to, but not limited to current programming and development.  This role offers the unique opportunity to be involved in programming strategy while working closely with the Program Strategy and Production Operations teams.   

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all financial aspects of Development, inclusive of accurate cash and programming expense forecasting and analysis.  Work closely with development executives in tracking and reporting all Unscripted development projects.
  • Work with the Production Operations and Creative team to understand production timelines, cost reporting schedules, production cash flows and talent agreements.
  • Work closely with Program Strategy team to ensure consistent scheduling & budget assumptions, analyzing program scheduling grids and communicating cost impact to upper management.
  • Assist in the overall Cable consolidation and presentation of portfolio financials, including performing ad hoc analyses and providing insight into programming financials.  Key contributor to the monthly/quarter closings, including providing finance schedules and analyses as needed.
  • Support the ongoing system improvement and testing of NBCUniversal’s programming content tracking and reporting system (COMPASS).
  • Manage, identify, and highlight business risks and opportunities throughout the quarter for respective programming areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business related field
  • 2+ years of experience in financial, accounting, or similar roles
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and proficient in other MS Office applications, particularly Powerpoint
  • Media/Cable experience preferred

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00
