Overview
BusPatrol is seeking a Business Analyst to serve as the financial subject matter expert and strategic partner for our Technology team. Acting as the team’s in-house finance specialist, you’ll bridge strategy and execution—translating data into insights that drive smarter decisions and stronger performance.
You’ll work closely with Technology leadership to analyze financial performance, evaluate investment opportunities, and connect budget decisions to real business outcomes. While our operations are U.S.–based, the Technology team spans multiple geographies—including international locations—offering broad exposure to diverse working environments and perspectives.
The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to clearly communicate financial insights to both technical and non-financial stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Be the bridge: Act as the Technology team’s go-to Finance partner, aligning functional and financial goals while improving visibility into performance
- Turn data into direction: Translate financial results into clear, actionable insights that guide spending, resource allocation, and investment decisions
- Quantify impact: Support payback and investment analyses that measure the value and ROI of key technology and operational initiatives
- Model the future: Build and maintain streamlined financial models for planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis
- Connect performance to outcomes: Explain how financial and operational results drive overall company performance
- Collaborate and communicate: Work closely with FP&A on monthly reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Improve how we work: Refine and enhance processes that strengthen collaboration between Finance and other business units.
- Drive efficiency: Help automate and optimize reporting and tracking processes to save time and boost accuracy
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in a Business Analyst, FP&A, or similar analytical role.
- Strong grasp of accounting and finance fundamentals (formal certification not required).
- Proven ability to turn complex data into clear, business-ready insights.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Skilled with data and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, NetSuite, Salesforce, Planful, or similar).
- Excellent communicator who can partner effectively across Finance, Operations, and Leadership.
- Experience in a technology-driven or operations-focused environment is a plus.
