The Position
Are you interested in developing novel reagents for the next generation of high
sensitive immunoassays? We are looking for a highly talented and motivated
postdoctoral fellow to join our team on this mission.
In this position, you will:
- Design, create and evaluate novel reagents for heterogeneous immunoassays
- Develop biomolecule modified particles by contemporary bioconjugation techniques and small molecular linkers by chemical synthesis
- Commit to work with a proactive and collaborative mindset with project partners from biology, analytics and test development to gain a deep insight into the relationship of structural design and assay performance
- Plan, execute and analyze experiments in an independent manner to effectively advance the projects
- Communicate scientific progress through internal meetings and visit scientific conferences to ensure the state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of bioorganic synthesis, chemical biology and surface chemistry
- Be part of a highly motivated and cross-functional team
Who we are:
The Chemistry Technologies department provides the full spectrum of chemical diagnostic reagents, ranging from small molecules to biooligomers and polymers.
Based on modern synthetic and analytical methods we design and develop tailor-made molecules to find the right solutions for diagnostic questions and beyond.
Who you are:
- You hold a PhD in the field of bioorganic chemistry, chemical biology or life science.
- You possess profound knowledge in the conjugation of biomolecules (proteins, peptides, nucleic acids), preferably in context with (nano)particle modification
- You are well experienced in organic synthesis
- Hands-on experience in the field of immunoassays or nucleic acid detection complete your profile
- Your qualification should be clearly demonstrated by at least one first author paper published or accepted in a high impact journal.
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills are your strength. You are sensitive to intercultural and interdisciplinary matters - working in a team comes natural to you.
- You are a proactive individual with passion and commitment to innovate healthcare through our Roche Diagnostics Postdoc Program.
- Excellent English skills are required, German is not mandatory.
This position will be filled with effect spring 2024 and is limited to 2 years with the possibility to extend.
