POSITION OVERVIEW:
General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for maintaining and managing the general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, preparing financial reports, and conducting reconciliations. Daily tasks will also include assisting with the month-end and year-end close processes, analyzing financial statements, and supporting the accounting team with various ad hoc tasks.

- Maintain and manage the accuracy and integrity of all general ledger accounts in accordance with the company policies.
- Prepare, review, and post entries to ensure proper recording of financial transactions.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing financial schedules, adjusting entries, and audit documentation.
- Analyze financial statements and variances, investigating discrepancies and providing recommendations for resolution.
- Prepare and support the development of internal and external financial reports, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in financial operations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries as needed.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required
- 2-4 years of experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in maintaining and managing general ledger accounts.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to month-end and year-end close processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for analyzing financial statements
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Demonstrated ability to act in a way that is consistent with our values.
- The ability to work at a branch office daily, if qualified for hybrid work-from-home status, then the ability to work independently at a home office that has high speed internet, with minimal to no distractions during work hours (7:30-4:30).
- The ability to use a variety of information technologies is essential, including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets (MS Office 365).
- Qualified drug screen and background check.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
- Spend most days seated at a desk, working at a computer terminal to input data, handle phone calls, and exchange texts.
- Use the computer as a telephone, messenger, and work tool, so expect to wear a headset and use both a keyboard and mouse frequently throughout the day.
- Regularly sit, stand, and walk for long and short distances.
- Hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions.
- Communicate, verbally and in written form, regularly to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions internally and directly with customers.
- Occasionally lift and/or move material up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
