Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a motivated, highly talented Entry Level Civil Engineer with a focus in Water Resources for immediate employment in the Raleigh, NC office.
This position is expected to begin in Summer 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
- Developing hydrology models using a variety of methods and software.
- Developing 1D and 2D hydraulic models that simulate steady-state and unsteady flow regimes.
- Producing maps, reports, and geodatabases to communicate the results of the hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to industry professionals, public officials, and the public.
- Working under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or in another related discipline with an emphasis in water from an ABET accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications
- 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Understanding of hydrology and hydraulic processes supported by relevant coursework.
- Experience working with a variety of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (Primarily HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).
- Familiar with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
- Engineer-in-Training certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
- Desire to succeed in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
- Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to coordinate with technical and non-technical staff.

- Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (North Carolina Locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $55,029.50 - $75,665.57.
