Restaurant Busser (part-time AM or PM)

Job Summary:
The Hotel Restaurant Busser plays a crucial role in delivering an outstanding dining experience by supporting the front-of-house team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized dining area, assisting servers, and ensuring guests have everything they need. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Table Maintenance:
• Greet guests warmly and assist with seating as needed.
• Clear tables promptly and efficiently between courses and after guests leave.
• Reset tables with clean tableware, napkins, condiments, and centerpieces.
• Refill water glasses and assist with beverage service as directed by servers.
• To ensure a seamless dining experience, respond to guest requests and inquiries courteously, professionally, and promptly, and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Support for Servers & Restaurant Operations:
• Perform pre-and post-shift duties such as preparing the restaurant area, ensuring all supplies are stocked, and setting up the workstations.
• Assist servers by delivering food to tables when needed.
• Monitor tables for guest needs and communicate effectively with servers.
• Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including sweeping floors, wiping down tables, and organizing chairs.
• Ensure proper stocking of silverware, glassware, and plates at service stations.
• Keep service stations clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout shifts.
• Assist with running food from the kitchen to tables when needed or as requested by servers or chefs.

Cleaning & Sanitation:
• Follow all food, health, safety and sanitation regulations, including hygiene, proper food handling and storage, and food quality and temperatures standards.
• Regularly check and clean high-traffic areas, such as beverage stations and tray stands.
• Remove used dishes, glassware, and trash from tables and service areas efficiently.
• Support dishwashing and back-of-house cleaning duties when necessary.

Team Collaboration & Event Support:
• Work closely with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and clean-up for special events or banquets.
• Provide additional support in high-volume periods or private dining settings.

Compliance & Professionalism:
• Adhere to company policies, including time & attendance, meal & rest breaks, uniform standards, professionalism and code of conduct.
• Maintain a professional appearance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Follow all health, safety, and hotel regulations regarding food handling and cleanliness.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience: Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
• Customer Service: Friendly and service-oriented demeanor with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, pull, push, lift up to 40 lbs., bend, walk, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Multitasking Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Communication: Strong teamwork and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Work evenings, weekends, and holidays and on days as assigned by management.
• Upon hire, obtain and maintain Food Handler’s and Alcohol Service certifications as required by local laws.

• Fast-paced, high-energy hotel restaurant setting.
• Exposure to varying noise levels, conditions, temperatures and occasional outdoor work during special events.
