Senior Director of Onboarding Credit Strategy
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and dedicated person to join our team as Sr.Director of Onboarding Credit Strategy, reporting to the VP of Credit Strategy and Operations. This position will lead how we design and implement credit strategies for new customers across all of Bill’s credit products and will balance managing both risk and growth.
- Define and execute the end-to-end onboarding credit strategy, encompassing risk assessment models, data sourcing and integration, rule engines, and decisioning processes to optimize approval rates while maintaining acceptable risk tolerances.
- Lead and mentor a team of 5 Data Scientists focused on developing and implementing innovative credit underwriting strategies for new small and medium-sized business (SMB) loan applicants. Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of credit strategies into the loan application and onboarding experience.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the onboarding credit strategy, regularly analyzing performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven adjustments to optimize outcomes.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in SMB lending and credit risk management, incorporating relevant innovations into the onboarding strategy.
- Present strategy, analysis, and results to senior leadership, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience and providing clear recommendations.
We’d love to chat if you have:
- 10+ years experience and possess domain knowledge in credit risk strategy. Familiarity with typical risk strategies (traditional and non-traditional credit products), credit card authorization data and systems is highly valuable.
- Experience with corporate charge card and business payments risk highly preferred
- Experience with SMBs highly preferred
- 5+ years experience in people leadership; driving team goals that are aligned with the broader organization. Effective communication and coaching skills.
- Strong data analysis skills with knowledge of predictive modeling.
- Experience in writing SQL, SAS, Python analytical languages
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to prioritize, implement and optimize risk mitigation policies and controls.
- Excellent organizational skills - must possess ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience conducting in-market tests to assess effectiveness of credit strategies and impact on profitability and customer experience
- Ability to influence where you do not have direct authority through strong communication skills.

Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above.
