Laboratory Technical Asst II - VL Pathology

JOB SUMMARY:

To provide technical skills in performing routine laboratory tests.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High school graduation or equivalent and two years of experience.

Preferred qualifications: Prior experience with inventory management or supply chain.

MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:

• Prepares and maintains laboratory supplies, specimens, and equipment.

• Prepares a variety of chemicals, solutions, and reagents.

• May feed, care, and prepare laboratory animals for experimentation.

• Participates in medical or scientific experiments.

• Collects specimens to be used for diagnostic purposes.

• Prepares and stains slides for microscopic analysis.

• Performs quality control procedures.

• Assists in maintaining records of inventory and maintenance.

• Aids in the instruction of students and medical personnel in laboratory procedures.

• Adheres to internal controls established for department.

• Performs related duties as required.
