Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment used in all departments of the hospital. Must be conscientious with regards to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital and with doctor’s offices. Must be able to accept new ideas and learn position duties. Reports to OR Lead Material Coordinator. Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Central Sterile Certification preferred.
Experience:
- Experience working as a central sterile technician for greater than 1 year preferred.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates competency in written and oral communication.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and push loads for long periods of time.
