Role and Impact

We are seeking a dynamic and detail‑oriented HPC Lab Operations Manager to lead operations for our lab’s state‑of‑the‑art computing clusters and high‑performance computing environments.
In this critical role, you will ensure the seamless functionality of Intel’s HPC laboratory ecosystem, physical lab spaces, and supporting infrastructure. You will oversee HPC lab operations in support of teams focused on architecture showcasing, product sales, software development, performance optimization, and HPC innovation.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Cluster Operations
Work collaboratively with server, systems and applications engineering experts specializing in, Linux OS, high‑performance filesystems, high‑performance fabrics and datacenter power and cooling infrastructure.
Oversee daily lab operations, ensuring physical lab spaces, hardware, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
Ensure lab servers and networks are in compliance with Intel IT security policies.
Oversee contractors and 3rd party vendors supporting day‑to‑day cluster operations.
Lab Logistics & Asset Management
Supervise lab logistics related to asset storage, transportation, calibration, preventive maintenance and audits.
Oversee inventory levels for lab supplies and maintain strong partner relations to ensure timely asset procurement needs are met.
Process, Quality & Compliance
Develop and implement quality standards for laboratory equipment and processes to improve efficiency and troubleshooting.
Establish and maintain laboratory information systems by identifying needs, making recommendations, and prioritizing enhancements.
Train team members and lab customers on lab best practices and compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders across Intel.

Qualifications:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 4+ years relevant experience
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years relevant experience
OR
PhD Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years relevant experience
Relevant Experience should include the following:
Advanced technical knowledge in datacenter, validation lab, or HPC ecosystem management and equipment provisioning.
HPC, datacenter, or server system administration experience.
Experience with infrastructure management including cooling, networking, and power systems.
