POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor. The supervisor will directly supervise employees in the areas of shipping/receiving and material handling.  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a manner consistent with company expectations, policies and philosophies.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties:

  • Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, production orders, and other records to determine shipment priorities, work assignments, and transportation methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.

  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments assuring parts are packaged and preserved in a manner that prevents damage during transit.

  • Monitors updates of SQL Database for accurate and timely receipt and material movement transactions.

  • Experienced in packing and crating “best practices” to minimize product damage.

  • Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states

  • Monitors inspection of material handling equipment for defects and coordinates with maintenance or outside services for repair.

  • Monitors picklist(s) and backlog for status of shippable orders. Prepares bills of lading. Monitors posting of all shipments to LMI’s system.

  • Manages tooling requirements and coordinates with Tool Control to resolve issues.

  • Identifies and implements improvements in packaging methods and type to reduce cost and improve protection.

  • Purchase all packaging supplies

  • Participate in plant projects

  • Operate fork trucks to retrieve various tooling to support production

  • Champion of 5S initiatives within department

  • Conducts forklift training and tests drivers upon completion of training.

  • Oversee cycle counting activity.

  • Supervises kitting function, issues work orders, and insures that kit inventory is adequate to support end-item demand.

  • Supervises metal finishing process (polishing department) to ensure that accurate backlog info is communicated to internal customers, correct priorities are established, and manages resources to obtain maximum utilization of capacity.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred.

  • Experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques as they relate to shipping/receiving, kitting, and material handling.

  • Experienced in “root cause analysis/corrective action” procedures.

  • Experienced forklift driver.

  • Cycle counting administration and reconciliation experience.

  • Ability to understand technical specifications and to convey such information in a manner that is clearly understood by layman, and not subject to misinterpretation.

  • Experience with AS400 and Job scope preferred.

  • Understand multi-level BOM’s and work order routing practices.

  • MS Excel (Intermediate user), familiarity with MS PowerPoint and MS Word.

  • The Shipping Receiving Supervisor must possess the necessary leadership traits to assure the effective, consistent performance of departmental activities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud

  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection

  • May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
