Technical Product Manager - OilX

About the role

Purpose

The technical product manager will be working at the intersection of OilX’s SaaS web application and the internal data analysis and data collection toolkits. The main objective is to create the infrastructure (data pipelines) and use it for development of data visualization and interaction dashboards. We organize our teams using concepts of Dual-track Agile (Scrum) methodologies and we would love to onboard people who are going to contribute across product discovery, development, optimization, QA, DataOps, DevOps and Continuous Integration.

Technology Stack

Our backend applications are deployed on AWS and are built with Python, R and Apache airflow. The rest of our technology stack is built around React, Redux and RxJS, and deployed on AWS. We use all the latest data engineering tooling to power our Machine Learning solutions along with all the modern Python web application tooling for our web application solutions. Currently, we are looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our team in Athens, but being a remote first team we will consider applicants from anywhere within European time zones.

Duties

  • Report to VP of Product.
  • Work with Product leadership team (Head of OilX and VPs) to discover and deliver successful products.
  • Progressively but quickly earn a deep technical understanding of a complex, large-scale solution and the underlying business issues it serves through hands-on data work.
  • Translate customer and operational needs into well-defined functional and technical requirements backed by data analysis and internal landscape understanding.
  • Document and track the fulfillment of product vision and requirements.
  • Lead the Data team SCRUM and resolve any interdependencies between the data team and other teams.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years in B2B SaaS product management.
  • Data Visualization skill set, focusing in time series and maps.
  • Passion and attention to details for UI/UX
  • Expert technical data skill, including at least one of: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or MS SQL and one of Python or R
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

Desirable skills

  • Experience with REST APIs and their principles
