About the role

Description

The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources department, assisting in day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and facilitating smooth communication between employees and management. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to handling HR-related tasks.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing and processing new hire paperwork, conducting orientations, and ensuring a smooth integration into the company.
  • Coordinate offboarding procedures, including exit interviews and necessary documentation.
  • Maintain and update employee files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all personnel records in both digital and physical formats.
  • Track and update information such as employment status changes, leaves, performance reviews, and benefits information.
  • Assist with compliance tracking by ensuring company policies are up to date and communicated to all employees.
  • Support the preparation of reports for compliance audits, such as EEO, I-9, and other as required.
  • Be a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, and other HR-related concerns.
  • Assist in the coordination of employee engagement activities, such as company events, wellness programs, and training sessions.
  • Provide support on HR-related projects, such as implementing new software, creating training materials, and updating policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on special initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness.
  • Prepare and manage HR documents.
  • Schedule and coordinate HR meetings, interviews, and training sessions.
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Perform full cycle recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring candidates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with full cycle recruiting.
  • 2 years of HR experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around occassionally.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally. 
  • Office environment with occasional travel to job sites or other company locations.
  • May require overtime during peak periods, such as benefits enrollment, audits, or end-of-year reporting.

Pay:

$19.00 - $23.00 per hour (depending on experience)
